Ben Clifford

Board vice president/treasurer

Born and raised in New Mexico, Ben worked as a paramedic for six years before graduating from the UNM physician assistant program in 2020. In early 2021, he and his wife began volunteering at WNCR, thinking it would be a good opportunity to help out and learn about horses so that they could eventually have their own.

“It’ll be fun! Let’s just try it out,” quickly turned into regularly volunteering for the feed and farrier teams, taking all the classes the ranch has to offer, and adopting a horse named Daisy from the ranch and, later, another horse named Kalmia through another contact. Ben joined the board in April 2022 and was elected to Vice President and Treasurer in 2023. He is excited to further support the mission of the rescue.
