Which circle is right for you?

Gift Circle: Want to be a part of the magic but can't volunteer because of time, distance or circumstances? Select the gift level that fits you best and make a tax-deductible donation. Every gift is very important, much appreciated and guaranteed to be applied directly to the care of our rescued equines.

Sponsorship Circle: For those ready for greater involvement, there is the monthly Sponsorship Circle. Sponsorship is the life's blood of this organization. When you commit to making a monthly, tax-deductible donation, you give WNCR the ability to order that next load of hay or proceed with rehabilitative surgery with the certainty that the money to pay for it will be available when the bill comes due. It costs roughly $3000 per horse per year to take in an equine in rough shape, treat his injuries or illness, rehabilitate him, retrain him as necessary, and find him a loving adoptive home. Your monthly sponsorship donation of any amount from $25.00 on up is a solid start for a new rescue and gives you a tidy tax deduction at year's end. It takes a very special person or family to make a commitment like this but the rewards are limitless. You have the satisfaction of knowing that you made a substantial difference in a life that, up to now, has known little more than pain and uncertainty. Every sponsorship donation supports some portion of a rescued horse's care and, when added to the donations of other sponsors, extends and enhances the circle of life for some lucky horse. Since we have at least 30 rescued equines in various stages of rehab and training at any given time, we can't have too many sponsors! And, don't forget, you get that tidy tax deduction .

Volunteer Circle: Those who live in central New Mexico and want to contribute more directly to the rescue effort can become volunteers. Volunteers do absolutely everything at WNCR so we really do have something for everyone. Those with horse experience can get involved with rehab and training, those without experience can get plenty of it here and then try the more challenging roles later on. There is always office work to be done, barns and fences to build or repair, water lines to run or hay to be unloaded. Volunteers assist our vets, chiropractors and farriers as well. Of course, every one is part of the poop scooping and fund raising circles. Needless to say, those are never ending jobs! Active volunteers, those who put in at least 10 hours of work per month, are also eligible to take riding lessons on ranch horses for a small fee and can attend a variety of workshops offered periodically free of charge.

Adopters Circle: Those who give loving, forever homes to our rescues are permanent members of the WNCR family. Your new family member comes with a large support system committed to helping this new relationship flourish. A new home is, after all, the ultimate gift that anyone can give an unwanted horse. Those serious about adoption but wishing to gain a little experience and get to know their adoption candidate a bit better may sponsor a particular horse for $175.00 per month for a riding sponsorship or $125.00 per month for a non riding sponsorship. This sponsorship reserves this horse for you and you are encouraged to spend as much time with them as possible. Take a few lessons, ride the trails, really get to know your horse before you take the plunge! At the end of sponsorship, you can decide to adopt your new friend or let him go to the next person on the list of those who wish to consider this horse for adoption.

The most important thing is that you get involved! Don't be content to watch from the sidelines. Pick a circle (or two or three of four!) and take an active part in helping these incredible creatures have the comfortable, happy lives the deserve.
